The ultrasonic level meter is a digital level instrument controlled by a microprocessor. In the measurement, the ultrasonic pulse is emitted by the sensor (transducer), and the sound wave is reflected by the liquid surface and received by the same sensor or the ultrasonic receiver. The distance from the sensor to the surface of the measured liquid is calculated based on the time between the emission and reception of the sound wave. Since non-contact measurement is adopted, the measured medium is hardly restricted and can be widely used for the measurement of various liquid levels.
