Product Description

Function and measurement system
Measuring Principle
The revolutionary MGS series guided wave radar level meters are sophisticated "top-down" measuring devices utilizing the advanced Time of Flight (ToF) principle. Emitting high-frequency pulse signals, these are directed to the probe and travel along it. Upon meeting the material surface, they reflect back with precision. This reflected signal journeys back via the probe and is adeptly captured by the instrument. With our exclusive equivalent sampling technology, the duration between sending and receiving the pulse is expertly transformed into the distance from the instrument's reference point (the process joining point) to the material surface, thus calculating the accurate level. This exceptional technique is renowned as TDR - Time Domain Reflectometry.

Import
The echo pulse signal elegantly transmits from the probe to the instrument's electronic unit. Here, the microprocessor executes a detailed analysis of the incoming signal to pinpoint the authentic level echo signal. This crucial identification is accomplished by our intelligent software. The formula D=c * t / 2--, where c represents the speed of light, shows the proportional relationship between the measurement distance D and the pulse's travel time t. Given the pre-known empty tank height E, the level L is determined as L =E-D--. Refer to the figure on the right for the reference point of the empty tank height E.

Output
Tailored to the field conditions, the instrument is configured with the empty tank height (zero point), full tank height (full scale), and application parameters, enabling it to seamlessly integrate with the ongoing measurement application. Based on the user's range settings, the instrument adjusts to provide the corresponding 4~20mA output. Communication is facilitated through the robust HART protocol.

Measurement medium selection
Liquid dielectric constant greater than or equal to 1.6
· Thick liquid medium

· Any medium with a dielectric constant greater than or equal to 1.6
· Any medium with dielectric constant greater than or equal to 1.6 · Medium viscosity less than or equal to 500cst
· It has a strong inhibitory effect on steam and foam, and the measurement is not affected

· Any medium with dielectric constant greater than or equal to 1.4 and viscosity less than or equal to 500cst
· The measurement is independent of the conductivity of the medium

explain
· Usually, cable probes are used to measure solid particles, and rod probes are only suitable for measuring light solid particles with good fluidity in small ranges (about 4m);
· Rod or coaxial rod probes are usually used to measure small range of liquids. Cable probes are used to measure liquids with a range greater than 4m or in situations where rigid probes cannot be installed on the top space;
· The coaxial rod probe can measure the viscosity of liquids up to 500cst, the coaxial rod probe can measure liquefied gas, the nozzle and the internal structure of the material tank have no effect on the measurement;
· When used for measuring the material level of large bins, the cable probe should be equipped with a plastic sheath to maintain the seal and prevent the cable from breaking due to side pressure;
· Corrosive media should be selected for corrosion protection;
· When the measured medium is a very loose material, it can be classified as a class with low dielectric constant;
· The maximum range of the instrument will be reduced due to the influence of working conditions, such as: very loose surface material, adhesion caused by wet medium.

Measurement Excellence: With precise blind zone and measurement distance specifications, our transmitter offers unparalleled accuracy tailored to your specific application needs.

Measuring Conditions
• Measurement Range Guidelines: Starting where the beam contacts the tank's bottom, this method ensures accuracy. Note, however, for disc-bottom or conical discharge tanks, levels below this contact point are unmeasurable.
• Media with Low Dielectric Constants: For mediums with lower dielectric constants (Class A and B), especially at low levels, visibility of the tank bottom can impact accuracy. It is advised to establish the measurement zero point at position C, distanced from the tank's bottom, to maintain precision.
• Theoretical Measurement Range: Extending to the very end of the instrument antenna, yet accounting for possible corrosion and adhesion, ensure the range's end is at least distance A from the antenna's top. Condensation requires special consideration.
Minimum Measurement Range (B): This is contingent upon the chosen antenna type, detailed in the accompanying table.
Tank Specifications: Ensure the tank's diameter exceeds D, and the height meets or surpasses H, as outlined in the table below.

Instrument type A[mm] B[m] C[mm] D[m] H[m]

· Effects of Gas Phase
Impact of Steam and Pressure: Steam presence at the liquid surface can decelerate signal transmission under high pressure, a phenomenon intensified in low-temperature settings. As the distance to the material surface widens, so does the measurement error, further detailed in the subsequent table.
