These advanced instruments emit high-frequency pulse signals along a probe. Upon encountering a material surface, they reflect back, allowing the instrument to receive and analyze the signal. Thanks to our state-of-the-art equivalent sampling technology, the system deftly calculates the time difference between the pulse's emission and reception. This allows the translation of this time into the exact distance from the instrument's reference point to the material's surface, delivering precise level measurements through the acclaimed TDR Time Domain Reflectometry method.

Import
The intricate echo pulse signals journey seamlessly from the probe to the instrument's electronic unit. Equipped with an intelligent microprocessor, the system expertly discerns the authentic level echo signal amidst various reflections. This smart identification is achieved through advanced software that ensures flawless accuracy. The measurement distance, D, directly corresponds to the pulse's travel time, t, defined by the equation: D = c * t / 2, where 'c' represents light speed. With the known empty tank height, E, the level, L, is ingeniously derived as L = E - D. Refer to the accompanying diagram for the precise reference point of the empty tank height, E.

· Usually, cable probes are used to measure solid particles, and rod probes are only suitable for measuring light solid particles with good fluidity in small ranges (about 4m);
· Rod or coaxial rod probes are usually used to measure small range of liquids. Cable probes are used to measure liquids with a range greater than 4m or in situations where rigid probes cannot be installed on the top space;
· The coaxial rod probe can measure the viscosity of liquids up to 500cst, the coaxial rod probe can measure liquefied gas, the nozzle and the internal structure of the material tank have no effect on the measurement;
· When used for measuring the material level of large bins, the cable probe should be equipped with a plastic sheath to maintain the seal and prevent the cable from breaking due to side pressure;
· Corrosive media should be selected for corrosion protection;
· When the measured medium is a very loose material, it can be classified as a class with low dielectric constant;
· The maximum range of the instrument will be reduced due to the influence of working conditions, such as: very loose surface material, adhesion caused by wet medium.

Selection Guide

· The MPS3300 Horn Antenna Pulse Radar is a versatile solution, expertly engineered for diverse applications. It excels in measuring liquids, slurries, and other media, even under strong corrosive and complex conditions. Its adaptable design suits storage and process containers, such as water liquid tanks, acid and alkali storages, and slurry tanks.1) For class A medium, the waveguide option (20m) is recommended for precise measurement.

· The MPS3700 Series Pulse Radar is engineered for precision in measuring solid levels in large-range process containers. Its adaptable antenna design makes it ideal for applications like coke level measurement, slurry storage, and solid particle monitoring.



Measuring Condition
• The measurement range begins precisely where the radar beam contacts the tank's base. In tanks with disc-bottoms or conical discharge ports, areas below this point remain unmeasurable, ensuring accuracy in readings.
• For media with low dielectric constants (Class A and B), the tank bottom becomes visible at low levels (entering right figure C). To enhance accuracy, it's recommended to establish the zero measurement point at position C, away from the tank bottom, ensuring reliable data.
• The theoretical range extends to the end of the instrument antenna. However, due to potential corrosion and adhesion, it's advised to maintain a minimum distance (A) from the antenna top to the measurement range end, especially under condensation conditions.
Minimum measurement range B is dependent on the antenna type chosen. Refer to the table for specifics.
Ensure the tank diameter exceeds D, and the height is at least H, as detailed in the accompanying table, to guarantee optimal measurement conditions.
